Hello, friends! In our previous tutorial, we talked about the blue chickens in Stardew Valley. Many of you then asked about how to obtain golden chickens. In this tutorial, we will cover all you need to know about golden chickens, so let’s dive in.
What are Golden Chickens?
Golden chickens are a type of coop animal that can be obtained by hatching a golden egg using an incubator.
How to Obtain a Golden Egg?
However, acquiring a golden egg can be quite challenging, as it requires achieving 100% perfection in the game. This involves completing various tasks, such as finding all golden walnuts and earning the Craft Master achievement, among others. You can check your game progress anytime by visiting Mr. Qi’s Walnut Room on Ginger Island and looking at the Perfection Tracker to the right.
Once you reach 100% perfection, there are four ways to obtain a golden egg:
- Purchase one for 100,000g from Marnie’s Ranch.
* Buy one for 100 Qi Gems at Mr. Qi’s Walnut Room on Ginger Island.
* Obtain one through the random Witch event that occurs at night. After the golden witch flies over, you can find a golden egg in your coop the next morning.
* There is a 0.12% chance of finding a golden egg in a treasure chest while fishing, but this probability is very low.
Hatching a Golden Egg
After obtaining a golden egg, place it in the incubator in your coop. In about five to six days, it will hatch into a golden chicken. If you have the Coopmaster profession, the incubation time will be halved.
Caring for Golden Chickens
A juvenile golden chicken will mature in three days if fed adequately and will produce one golden egg daily. A golden egg’s price r anges from 500 to 1,000g.
With the Rancher profession, a golden egg sells for 600 to 1,200g. Regardless of quality, placing any golden egg in a mayonnaise machine will yield three gold-star mayonnaise jars. Except for iridium quality eggs, all other golden eggs can be processed in the mayonnaise machine for a base selling price of 855g, 1,026g with the Rancher profession, and 1,197g with the Artisan skill.
On average, a golden chicken’s income is around 1,000g, which is slightly less than raising pigs. The advantage of this method is its simplicity. However, the downside is that once you achieve 100% perfection, most players will not be in need of money, making golden chickens less meaningful.
That concludes this tutorial on golden chickens in Stardew Valley. Good luck, and happy farming!
