Stardew Valley Expanded (SVE) is a mod for the popular farming simulation game Stardew Valley. This mod adds new content and features to the game, enhancing the overall gameplay experience for players. One of the most significant additions in SVE is the introduction of new crops and growing mechanics.
In the game, players can grow a variety of crops to sell for profit and use in various recipes. SVE introduces new crops, including spring monster crops, summer crops, fall crops, and winter crops.
Spring monster crops can be obtained by slaying slimes in the Highlands. Summer monster crops can be obtained by slaying wilderness golems to get stalk seeds. In addition to the new crops, SVE also adds new growing mechanics. For example, players can grow all their crops in the grandpa’s shed greenhouse, which is an original prebuilt shed added by the mod.
Processing Crops
Some of the new crops in SVE can be processed into valuable products, such as wine, pickles, and jam. For example, the Monster Fruit, which is an eyeball-like fruit, can be made into wine that is worth over 12,810 per bottle when aged to iridium quality. This is more than twice the value of Star Fruit wine aged to iridium quality. Monster Mushrooms can be made into juice that is worth 2,676, which is more than pineapple wine that has been aged to iridium quality. Void Root can be pickled for 728, making it just behind red cabbage for value and the second-best pickle in the game. On the other hand, the Slime Berry jelly is worth only 273, while the wine is worth 546.
Increasing the Drop Rate
While some players have reported that they have not seen any mushrooms or slimes, the drop rate for these items can be increased by use a lucky lunch or wearing a rabbit’s foot, which boost luck. The drop rate can also be influenced by the monster limit per location configuration from the farmtypemanager mod, and players can try increasing this setting if they are having difficulty obtaining seeds.
Overall, the introduction of new crops and growing mechanics in SVE adds a fresh and exciting dimension to the game. Players can now grow a wider range of crops, process them into valuable products, and enjoy a more immersive farming experience.
