Find all six Lake fish, the two exits, and five useful NPC stops. Then follow the Kid route from Sucker Eel to Canoe, Pink, Tofu, and the Stream gate.

Kid opening route
From first cast to the Stream gate
Keep the first quest fish and flower instead of selling them.- 01
Catch Sucker Eel
Fish the upper-middle Lake zone for S.Eel. Earthworm is a compatible early choice; use Hook(S) for this small target.

Trade for the Canoe
Give S.Eel to the angler beside the Inn. The Canoe lets you reach the island rather than circling the shore.

Pick Pink on the island
Carry the flower back to the fox family. Do not discard or sell it before the exchange.

Exchange Pink for Tofu
The fox family turns the flower into the food requested by the ogre.

Open the northwest passage
Give Tofu to the ogre at the Stream exit. The blocker moves and the next freshwater map opens.

Lake map questions
Where is Sucker Eel?
Select S.Eel in the finder. Its zones sit above the Lake center in both coordinate segments. The game abbreviates Sucker Eel as S.Eel.
Why are there two segments?
The game holds two coordinate layouts for the Lake. They are map segments, not seasons or time-of-day tables; the six species stay available all year and all day.
Can Teen visit Lake?
Yes. Kid starts here; Teen reaches Lake through the shared home hub. Both routes can eventually collect the same Lake fish.
What opens Stream?
Tofu opens the gate. The chain is S.Eel → Canoe → island Pink → fox-family Tofu → northwest ogre.
