Stardew Valley Shop Operating Hours: A Guide

Hello, friends! Have you ever encountered closed shops while playing Stardew Valley? Either the shop is not open yet, or the shopkeeper is not available. In this article, we’ll go over the operating hours of some commonly used shops in the game.

Robinson’s Carpentry Shop First up is Robin’s Carpentry Shop, where you can purchase building materials and constructions. The main entrance is open from 9 am to 8 pm. If you arrive too early or late, there will be a prompt. The same goes for other shops. You can only enter the shops outside of these hours after acquiring the Town Key. On festival days, the shop is closed all day, even with the Town Key. Robin must be near the counter to trade, but it’s not necessary for her to be directly behind it. She usually works from 9 am to 5 pm.

There are some exceptions, such as Tuesdays when she goes to Caroline’s house to dance. However, you can still trade with her at specific times. For example, when she passes by the counter at 9:50 am before heading to Caroline’s. Another opportunity is at 8 pm after she chats with the older folks until 6 pm. On Fridays, she leaves work an hour early at 4 pm to go to the Stardrop Saloon and dance with Demetrius at 7:20 pm. She doesn’t return home until 9 pm, so remember to trade early on Fridays. If it’s raining, Robin stays home and follows her regular schedule.

On the 18th of Summer, Robin goes for her annual check-up. She wakes up early at 7 am and heads to the hospital at 8 am. You can’t trade with her at the counter if you don’t have the Town Key. After her check-up at 1:30 pm, she returns home at 4 pm and passes by the counter at 5:40 pm.

Marnie’s Ranch Marnie’s Ranch sells animals and animal supplies. The front door is open from 9 am to 6 pm, and she works from 9 am to 4 pm. On Mondays, Marnie visits Pierre’s General Store and doesn’t work. On Tuesdays, she also goes to Pierre’s to dance and doesn’t work. You can only trade with Marnie when she is standing directly behind the counter.

Rainy days mean Marnie stays home and operates her shop as usual. Her annual check-up is on the 18th of Fall, and on the 18th of Winter, she takes Jas for a check-up. On these days, her shop is closed.

Pierre’s General Store Pierre’s General Store is where you buy seeds, bags, and sell foraged items, crops, and artisan goods for cash. You’ll visit this shop frequently in the early game. The front door is open from 9 am to 9 pm, and Pierre works from 9 am to 5 pm. The shop is closed on Wednesdays, but Pierre still stands behind the counter. You can only trade with Pierre when he is standing behind the counter.

Once you complete the community center bundles, you can trade with Pierre on Wednesdays, though it becomes less important at that stage in the game.

Clint’s Blacksmith Clint’s Blacksmith is where you buy coal, ores, and upgrade tools. The front door is open from 9 am to 4 pm. As long as Clint is inside his house, you can trade with him, even if he’s asleep. He rarely leaves his house, except to visit the Stardrop Saloon in the evening. Clint’s annual check-up is on the 16th of Winter, but he doesn’t leave for the hospital until 10:30 am, so it doesn’t impact trading. If the community center is restored, Clint doesn’t work on Fridays and spends his time in the boiler room instead. Interestingly, Emily also visits the community center on Fridays, which might hint at a connection between the two.

Willy’s Fish Shop Willy’s Fish Shop is open from 9 am to 5 pm, where you can buy fishing rods, fishing gear, and sell fish. It’s visited more frequently in the early game. After unlocking Ginger Island, the shop opens an hour earlier at 8 am. On Spring 1, Willy is not at home, but after the plot-related event, you can enter his shop. He doesn’t work on Saturdays and goes fishing in the forest instead. On other days, he follows his regular schedule, fishing outside his shop in the morning and starting work at 9 am. You can trade with Willy when he’s behind the horizontal counter, but not when he’s too far away vertically.

Willy’s check-up is on Spring 9, but he doesn’t leave for the hospital until 10:10 am, so you can still trade with him beforehand. In comparison, Robin seems overly eager for her check-up.

There are other shops in the game as well, but these are the main ones you’ll be interacting with most frequently. Happy farming!
