Stardew Valley Switch Exploits

From the beginning of the gaming era, there were always some sorts of cheats, exploits, and codes. During years of new updates, the number of exploits that could be done on PC drastically fell. However, players who use Nintendo Switch are lucky because a good amount of exploits work on that platform.

This article will contain all known exploits and cheats for Switch’s version of Stardew Valley.

Unlimited Time

Every Stardew player knows the drill; at 2 AM you just hit the sack no matter where you are. The Mines? The rocks are cozy. The Forest? There are soft bushes. Pierre’s shop?

However, there is a way to avoid passing out at 2 AM. It’s tricky, but once you master it, you will easily avoid collapsing. This can be really helpful in dungeons.

So to do this, you need to open your journal immediately when your character starts yawning. Then repeat that every time your character yawns, and you’re good to go.

Unlimited Fishing Time

For this one, you’ll need to have an active quest. Just cast a line into the water, open your journal, and when the fish bites, close it and immediately pull.

Passing Through Map Boundaries

This one is easy but not so useful (as nothing is interesting beyond the border) except if you want to get a better fishing spot and increase your chances of getting the rare fish. All you need to do is to walk to the edge of the map’s segment and swing your sword or use tools repeatedly until you pass through the boundary.

Good Quality Spring Onion

Spring Onions can be quite useful in replenishing energy and hp. Sadly they cannot be grown, and the only way to get them is by foraging in the Cindersap Forest during spring. Their quality varies but if your inventory has only one free place and one regular spring onion, every onion in your forage will have gold quality.

Galaxy Sword

To obtain the galaxy sword, you first need to unlock the Desert and then find one prismatic shard and bring it to the three pillars.

But if you want to get it earlier, just buy a wallpaper catalog from Pierre for 30,000 gold, and place the Green Wallpaper in your inventory.

The game is experiencing a glitch in the code, which causes it to mistakenly identify the Green Wallpaper as the Prismatic Shard.

So just go to the desert and bring the wallpaper between pillars, and you’ll get the galaxy sword.

Cheat Codes

You can spawn any item in your inventory by using codes, but first, you need to downgrade your game’s version to 1.2 because this cheat was removed in the next version. However, if you have a PC version also, the good news is that the codes still work.

This cheat allows you to obtain any item for use or selling, and you can earn an infinite amount of money with it, as long as you are willing to duplicate valuable items.

Every item has a numerical code, for example, a frozen geode 536. To spawn them, you need to change your name to three codes (different or same item), separate them with square brackets, then talk with any NPC, and when they mention your new 3 (same or different items depending on numerical code) will spawn in your inventory.

If you change your name to [536] [613] [393] and NPC says your name, you’ll get a frozen geode, an apple, and a coral.

When to Use Them and Downsides

These exploits can corrupt your game and ruin your experience, so I advise you to use them wisely and in dire need. They can also be addicting, especially if you are using codes because you can obtain everything by just imputing a few different numbers. That will ruin your overall experience if you are on your first or second playthrough.

If you are experimenting and not playing seriously, feel free to use them as much as you want.

Which Exploit is the Best One?

The exploit that is most useful and that won’t damage your game is the “Staying awake after 2 AM” one. It’s not a full-on cheat, and it can help you a lot in some situations.

Codes are useful but as you need to downgrade your game’s version (and lose the option to visit Ginger Island) they are not really worth it unless you want to experiment and have fun, which is guaranteed.
