How to Rescue the Highlands Dwarf

The Highlands Dwarf is imprisoned inside the Highlands Cavern Prison. To free him, you need the Dwarvish Translation Guide and the Golden Key dropped by the Highlands boss.

1. Learn Dwarvish

Donate all four Dwarf Scrolls to the Museum to receive the Dwarvish Translation Guide. The prison events require this wallet item, so collecting the key alone is not enough.

2. Defeat the Highlands Boss

Explore the Highlands and find the large Pepper Rex guarding the boss area. In SVE 1.15.11 this special Pepper Rex has 13,000 HP, deals 135 damage before defense, and has both instant-kill and stun immunity. Bring strong food, a late-game weapon, and enough healing to survive its fire attacks.

The first-defeat spawn table includes the quest item Golden Key; the repeat boss table omits that key.

3. Return to the Highlands Cavern Prison

  1. Keep the Golden Key in your inventory.
  2. Enter the prison section of the Highlands Cavern.
  3. Approach the captive dwarf to start the rescue event.

Rescue event 55134259 requires the key item and HasDwarvishTranslationGuide. It removes the Golden Key from your inventory, opens the cell, and frees the dwarf. If you reach him before defeating the boss, event 55134260 explains that a key is still needed; return after obtaining it.

What Unlocks After the Rescue?

The rescue enables the Highlands Dwarf's vendor area at the Highlands boat dock. His shop specializes in decorative dwarf furniture, signs, barrels, backpacks, ore-node decorations, geode nodes, gem nodes, stones, and crystals. Examples include the Sign of Yoba, Dwarf Table, Dwarf Cushion, Dwarf Chest, Iridium Node, Radioactive Node, Mystic Node, and Diamond Node.

If the Event Does Not Start

  • Confirm that you have received the Dwarvish Translation Guide from Gunther.
  • Confirm that the Golden Key is still in your inventory.
  • Make sure you are entering the prison map, not only the main Highlands Cavern.
  • Update all SVE components together so the content pack, Farm Type Manager data, and code component use matching versions.
