Navigating Ginger Island: Your Map to Stardew Valley’s Hidden Gem

This is a navigation guide for Stardew Valley 1.6.15.24356. Ginger Island is split into connected South, East, North, West and Volcano areas; Golden Walnuts open permanent shortcuts and facilities.

Unlock Willy’s boat first

Complete the Community Center or the Joja Community Development Form.
Read Willy’s invitation and enter the back room of the Fish Shop.
Repair the hull with 200 Hardwood, the ticket machine with 5 Battery Packs and the anchor with 5 Iridium Bars.
After the repair cutscene, buy a 1,000g ticket from Willy’s boat room to reach Island South.

Island South: arrival dock, boat home and the path north. The west exit is initially blocked by a turtle.
Island East: take the east path from the dock area to Leo’s hut and the banana shrine.
Island North: follow the central path north for the Island Field Office, Dig Site branch and Volcano entrance.
Island West: pay the first parrot at the turtle to open the farm, farmhouse site, grove and Walnut Room side of the island.
Volcano: enter from the far north and use the watering can on lava at the entrance to make a temporary crossing.

First-trip route

Explore East and speak with Leo.
Walk North to identify the Field Office and Volcano entrances.
Collect early walnuts and spend the first 10 at the western turtle.
Use West as the main farming base; save 20 walnuts for the farmhouse if you want to sleep on the island.
Choose the next unlock by need: Dig Site for exploration, Trader for barter, Resort for villagers or Express for faster routing.

Navigation notes

Crops grow year-round on the Island Farm. Ginger can be hoed from suitable wild patches, but Golden Walnuts—not ginger—control progression. Track each walnut source as you collect it so you can distinguish one-time puzzles from repeatable activities.
