Refined Quartz: Uses and Sources in Stardew Valley

Refined Quartz: Uses and Sources in Stardew Valley

This guide applies to Stardew Valley 1.6.15.24356. Refined Quartz is a crafting material; sprinklers are separate recipes rather than an upgrade chain.

Sprinkler recipes are independent

Quality Sprinkler1 Iron Bar + 1 Gold Bar + 1 Refined QuartzYes—1

You cannot insert a Basic Sprinkler into another recipe to upgrade it. Craft or buy the desired sprinkler as its own item. The Slime Hutch has no step in this process.

Garden Pots grow crops

A Garden Pot is primarily a functional crop container, not a decoration. Fill it with allowed seeds and water or retaining soil to grow crops in permitted locations. Location and crop restrictions still apply; the pot does not make every seed valid everywhere.

How to obtain Refined Quartz

  • Smelt 1 Quartz with 1 Coal for 1 Refined Quartz.
  • Smelt 1 Fire Quartz with 1 Coal for 3 Refined Quartz.
  • Recycle Broken CDs or Broken Glasses in a Recycling Machine without spending Coal.
  • Other local sources such as Ghost drops and some mine or trash interactions are supplementary rather than a dependable production plan.

For an early Quality Sprinkler or Lightning Rod push, recycling fishing trash preserves Coal; a Fire Quartz gives the best Furnace batch when one is available.
