Stardew Valley 1.6 Perfection Guide: Categories, Friendship, and Waivers

Great Friends is not a universal eight-heart target

The game checks the maximum relevant friendship for each eligible NPC. Most non-dateable villagers require 10 hearts. An undated marriage candidate can be complete at the normal 8-heart cap. A spouse or roommate can use the higher household relationship cap. “Eight hearts with everyone” therefore leaves ordinary villagers incomplete and can also understate the spouse requirement.

Use the tracker and the Social tab together. Friendship can decay in relationships that are not yet at their protected maximum, so finish low-heart villagers instead of assuming every portrait follows the bachelor/bachelorette cap.

Perfection Waivers in 1.6

Once Fizz becomes available, a Perfection Waiver costs 500,000g. Local 1.6.15 logic increments the world’s waiver counter by one, and each waiver adds one percentage point to the total shown by the perfection tracker. The tracker labels whether one or multiple waivers contributed.

This is an alternate paid route to the total, not evidence that an unfinished category was actually completed. The tradeoff is direct gold cost: five missing percentage points require five waivers and 2,500,000g. Players who want a completionist record can still finish the underlying categories instead.

Efficient order

  1. Keep one copy of seasonal crops, forage, fish and recipes’ unusual ingredients.
  2. Buy rare recipes and buildings when their unlock conditions appear; missing recipes often become the final bottleneck.
  3. Advance friendship throughout the save rather than treating it as a last-week grind.
  4. Track money-heavy goals separately: four Obelisks, the Golden Clock and any optional waivers.
  5. Use the in-game category lines to identify the remaining percentage instead of guessing from achievements.
