Ancient Fruit vs Starfruit: the winner depends on the bottleneck

Local 1.6.15 facts: Starfruit grows in 13 days and must be replanted. Its fruit base price is 750g and Sandy’s Oasis sells Starfruit Seeds for 400g. Ancient Fruit takes 28 days for the first harvest then regrows every 7 days; its fruit base price is 550g. The Casino is not the recurring Starfruit Seed vendor.

Starfruit wins value per individual fruit and per Keg batch. Ancient Fruit can win long-horizon value per tile because it regrows weekly without another seed purchase. Use the model below instead of a universal “more profitable overall” claim.

What the model does and does not claim

Harvests occur only when their configured growth day fits inside the horizon. Starfruit pays 400g again for every planting. The Keg simulation waits for fruit to exist, loads only batches that can finish inside the horizon, and sells remaining fruit raw. Wine uses 3 × base fruit price, followed by the optional Artisan multiplier.

The local Keg rule uses 10,000 machine minutes; seven days is an editable calendar approximation. Fertilizer, Agriculturist, Hyper Speed-Gro, crop quality, Seed Maker randomness, Cask aging, labor preference and the opportunity cost of obtaining the first Ancient Seed are not silently invented.
