Stardew Valley Greenhouse Guide: Crops and Fruit Tree Profit
Greenhouse planning: separate profit per fruit from access cost
The Greenhouse supports year-round crops and fruit production. Layout decisions should compare tile use, harvest cadence, machine capacity, seed/sapling access, and the time horizon rather than naming one crop for every save.
Current high-value fruit tree comparison
| Fruit | Local base price | Wine: 3 × base | Jelly: 2 × base + 50 | Access note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Banana | 150g | 450g | 350g | Banana Sapling is generally obtained through Ginger Island routes rather than Pierre’s ordinary sapling shelf. |
| Peach | 140g | 420g | 330g | Purchasable sapling with a direct gold cost. |
| Pomegranate | 140g | 420g | 330g | Purchasable sapling with a direct gold cost. |
Under the same profession and processing assumptions, Banana has the highest value per fruit of these three. Peach or Pomegranate can still be the practical first choice when their saplings are available much earlier.
Crop and machine bottlenecks
- Ancient Fruit favors low replanting labor and weekly harvests after maturity.
- Starfruit favors higher value per Keg batch but consumes a new seed each harvest.
- Fruit trees use the Greenhouse border efficiently, but each sapling needs its growth clearance until mature.
- When Kegs are the bottleneck, compare value per machine-day instead of raw harvest value alone.
