The Mystery Of Stardew Valley’s Secret Note 11

The Mystery Of Stardew Valley’s Secret Note 11

Secret Notes are collectible clues found through normal activities after the Winter Mystery unlock. The installed 1.6 data contains 27 standard Secret Notes, plus a separate set of Ginger Island Journal Scraps.

The Magnifying Glass is a Wallet/Special Item ability, not a usable backpack object. Once the ability is unlocked, found notes can be read and added to the Collections tab. Secret Note 11 is one of the image-only notes: it shows a photograph rather than a written clue.

How to Find Secret Note 11

A Winter Mystery begins after the player sees a fleeing shadowy figure in Winter. Follow the tracks and shake the indicated bush to gain the Magnifying Glass ability. The installed data does not identify this encounter as a confirmed Krobus appearance, so “shadowy figure” is the accurate neutral description. Afterward, Note 11 can drop randomly through eligible activities such as:

  • Artifact spots
  • Resource clumps
  • Giant crops

You can obtain Secret Note 11 and other Secret Notes by engaging in different random activities like fishing, fighting and defeating monsters, chopping down trees, breaking stones, and digging up weeds.

What is Secret Note 11?

While other Secrets Notes contain text, favorite items, and puzzles with explanations on how to complete them, Secret Note 11 is just a photograph. It contains an image of an unknown woman holding a young girl’s hand with faded color. This woman who is waving at the camera in this note is surrounded by different animals. A closer look at this secret note looks as if the woman and the girl are in the Cindersap Forest at the home of Marnie. Secret Note 11 does not have any purpose. It is just one of the collectibles in the game.

Secret Note 11 Theories

The game does not attach a quest or definitive caption to the photograph, so proposed identities should be treated as fan theories.

  1. The first theory
Some players interpret the picture as a younger member of Jas’s family with Jas. The photograph alone does not establish the exact family relationship.
  2. The second theory
Some players speculate about Shane’s role beyond being Jas’s godfather, but the vanilla dialogue does not establish him as her father.
  3. The third theory
Other interpretations connect the image to Marnie, Jas, or Lewis. These are fan attempts to fill in missing history, not confirmed parentage.

Nobody knows if any of these aforementioned theories is true but one thing is sure, finding Secret Note 11 and other Secret Notes in Stardew Valley is exciting and gives you a great gameplay experience.

What to Do with Secret Note 11

Secret Note 11 itself is a lore photograph with no known follow-up interaction or treasure. That should not be confused with Secret Note 21, which has a working event: after reading Note 21, shake the bush at tile 47,100 in Pelican Town at 12:40am (the bush northwest of the bridge toward the Beach) to trigger the Marnie and Lewis scene.

Final thoughts

In short: unlock the Magnifying Glass Wallet ability through A Winter Mystery, then continue ordinary eligible activities until Note 11 drops. Read it to register the photograph in Collections. Its identities remain open to interpretation, while actionable notes such as Note 21 should be followed using their exact time and location.
