How to Find Secret Notes in Stardew Valley Expanded
Before diving into the details of Secret Note 18, it’s crucial to understand how to find Secret Notes in general. In Stardew Valley Expanded, these collectible notes become available during Winter between 6 am and 4 pm. Start by walking from The Farm to the Bus Stop. Here, a cutscene will trigger featuring a mysterious “Shadow Guy” who darts away upon your arrival. This cutscene initiates a quest called “A Winter Mystery” in the player’s journal.
Follow the Shadow Guy’s footsteps, which lead to a bush next to the playground, located to the left of the Community Center. Interact with the bush, and the Shadow Guy will appear, apologize for his stealing, and give you a Magnifying Glass before bolting off.
Importance of the Magnifying Glass
The Magnifying Glass is not just a trinket; it’s your gateway to the world of Secret Notes. With it, you can discover these notes while engaging in activities like mining, fishing, chopping trees, or even slaying monsters. To read a found note, select it from your inventory and right-click. You’ll need to head to the area right above the largest pond located beneath the bus. Once there, keep your eyes peeled for three distinct patches of grass. These are your key landmarks. Take out your hoe and dig at those spots. If nothing appears, it means either you’ve already located the note, or there’s an issue with your game installation.
