WARIO LAND 3 GUIDE

Musical Coins Finder

Musical Coins Finder

Every Wario Land 3 level hides 8 Musical Coins, also commonly called music coins. Collect all eight in a stage for that level’s coin flag. Use the finder below to search all 25 levels, mark missing coins, and open the exact room-map state for every music-coin marker.

QUICK TOTAL

8 coins per level · 25 levels · 200 total

Musical Coins are a separate per-level collection from the 100 treasure chests. They are not required for the Music Box ending, but they are the standard completionist and map-clear goal players chase when hunting a missing music coin.

IF ONE MUSIC COIN IS STILL MISSING

Check layout state before replaying the whole level

Most “missing musical coin” problems come from the wrong Day or Night setting, a layout variant that moved a route, or a permanent ability that is still locked.

1

Match Day or Night

The overworld clock can open or block paths. Set the finder to the same time shown in your game before opening the coin map.

2

Match the Variant

World-changing treasures can rewrite rooms. Later variants sometimes place a coin that earlier layouts do not index the same way.

3

Return with an Ability

Some coins sit past Ground Pound floors, swim routes, high jumps, or stronger dashes. Grab the ability treasure first, then re-enter the level.

Music Boxes are not Musical Coins. Music Boxes are story treasures that drive the ending. Musical Coins are the eight shiny coins hidden in each level’s rooms.

FASTEST WAY TO CLEAR A LEVEL’S COINS

Use one level card as your collection checkpoint

1

Search the level

Enter a name or code such as N1, Out of the Woods, or “music coins volcanic.” Filter by region or “Missing coins.”

2

Open the coin map

The room index highlights every Musical Coin marker for your selected Day or Night and Variant state.

3

Mark coins collected

Expand a level to tick individual coins, or mark all 8 at once. Progress is stored only in this browser.

FAQ

Wario Land 3 Musical Coins questions

How many Musical Coins does Wario Land 3 have?

There are 8 Musical Coins in each of the 25 main levels, for 200 coins total. Players also search this collectible as “music coins.”

Do I need Musical Coins for the ending?

No. The main ending path centers on recovering the five Music Boxes and defeating the final boss. Perfect completion checks all 100 treasures when you return to the overworld after clearing the game. Musical Coin flags are tracked separately per level.

What happens when I collect all 8 coins in a level?

The game stores a per-level Musical Coin completion flag for that stage. Use this finder’s checklist to mirror that progress while you hunt missing coins across the world map.

Are Musical Coins the same as Time Attack?

No. Time Attack records compare your level clear time after you finish while holding the four colored keys. Musical Coins are a separate collection goal, though many players clean up coins while revisiting levels for records and 100% routes.

Why does The Vast Plain show fewer than 8 coin markers?

In early layout variants, the indexed room state may list 7 Musical Coin placements. Later variants index a full set of 8. Change the Variant control and open the map again if you still need one coin in N3.

Does this work on Nintendo Switch Online?

Yes. The English Game Boy Color release on Nintendo Switch Online uses the same level layouts and Musical Coin rules as the original GBC game.
