Junimo Hut Quick Facts (from game behavior)
Range
Each Hut covers a 17×17 tile square (radius 8) centered near the Hut; the Hut footprint is 3×2, leaving about 283 tiles.
Workers / Time
Each Hut sends up to 3 Junimos at a time; they stop around 7:10 PM, and don’t work on festivals or if you sleep early.
Entrance / Obstacles
Blocked entrances stop Junimos from working; obstacles in fields slow them down, so leave lanes.
Harvestable / Not
Harvests mature HoeDirt crops including crops grown from Wild Seeds, plus applicable bushes; does not harvest giant crops, potted plants, loose forageables, or trees/mushroom trees.
Output / Raisins
The Hut works as a 36-slot chest, with a work toggle on the top-right; raisins can be placed for a short buff.
Unlock / Cost
Restore the Community Center or finish Joja Development → follow the Witch’s Hut questline (Void Mayonnaise) → Wizard unlocks magical buildings; costs 200 stone / 100 fiber / 9 starfruit / 20,000g.
Sprinkler Mix
Late game typically favors iridium sprinklers with pressure nozzles and a few quality sprinklers to reduce waste; more aesthetic layouts may accept some overlap.
Scarecrow Coverage
Game code returns radii 9 and 17 and protects tiles whose Euclidean distance is strictly less than that value. The optional square view uses the same strict bounds as an alignment aid.
Appearance / Dye
Appearance changes by season; place gems to dye, and a Prismatic Shard for rainbow.
Unlocking the Junimo Hut
To unlock the Junimo Hut, there are a few prerequisites. First, restore the Community Center or complete the Joja Community Development Form.
Access the Railroad area to trigger the Wizard’s Dark Talisman quest.
Next, access the Railroad area to trigger the Wizard’s Dark Talisman quest. Speak with Krobus in the Sewers, unlock the Mutant Bug Lair, and follow the path to the chest containing the Dark Talisman. After obtaining the talisman, it appears in your wallet.
Find the chest containing the Dark Talisman.
Path to the chest.
Now head to the cave entrance above the Railroad area and restore the passage to the Witch’s Swamp. A Goblin blocks the path; give him a Void Mayonnaise. Inside the Witch’s Hut, collect the Magic Ink from the left side.
Find the Magic Ink in the Witch’s Hut.
Return the Magic Ink to the Wizard to unlock his magic-building book. Spend 200 stone, 100 fiber, 9 starfruit, and 20,000g to build a Junimo Hut.
The Wizard unlocks magical buildings after receiving the Magic Ink.

Junimo Note (decor/theme)
Tip: overlay maps help place Huts in crop-like areas; heatmap shows overlap waste. Sprinkler overlay is density guidance—adjust for paths/buildings. Pressure nozzles unlock in Mr. Qi’s Walnut Room (Ginger Island).
Scarecrows
Normal (distance < 9)
Deluxe (distance < 17)
Tip: The deluxe scarecrow recipe unlocks after collecting all rarecrows; its larger coverage suits multi‑Hut clusters.
How to Use
Basics
When editing is on: left‑click empty tiles to add a Hut; right‑click a Hut to delete; drag a Hut to move; drag empty space to pan.
Reading Overlays
“Range” shows the 17×17 harvest box; “Heatmap” shows overlap depth (darker = more overlap).
Auto Optimize (Greedy)
Quickly produces higher‑coverage Hut placements. It’s a step‑wise greedy approximation—use it as a starting point, then adjust for paths/buildings/landscape.
Import / Export
Copy Layout writes coordinates to the clipboard; paste them into the input to load.
Sprinkler Overlay
Select a sprinkler mode to visualize density and coverage (may differ from some guides). “Only tillable” filters non‑farmable tiles for easier planning.
Scarecrow Overlay
Defaults to greedy auto‑placement for target crops; switch to “1 per Hut” for a simple preview. “Only within Hut range” avoids wasting coverage; coverage shape can be circle (game‑like) or square (align Hut).
Combo Coverage
Measures target tiles inside Hut ranges that are covered by both sprinklers and scarecrows—use it to gauge combo compactness.
Footprint Check
“Strict (Buildable)” uses map properties and can flag some tillable tiles; “Loose (tillable/grass)” reduces false warnings for planning.
Footprint Warnings
⚠ appears if a Hut footprint overlaps water or non‑buildable tiles—adjust the location.
