Quarry Guide for Stardew Valley Expanded 1.15.11

The regular Quarry in Stardew Valley Expanded

Stardew Valley Expanded 1.15.11 loads its own Mountain map, but the familiar Quarry remains the eastern section of that location. SVE also supplies a matching repaired-bridge map, while the installed Stardew Valley 1.6.15 Mountain logic continues to control bridge access, minecart travel and daily quarry spawns.

Regular Quarry versus SVE Iridium Quarry

LocationHow it unlocksWhat it is
Regular QuarryRepair the Mountain bridge through the Crafts Room or Joja developmentThe standard ore-and-node area on the far east of the Mountain map
SVE Iridium QuarryLate-game SVE/Galdora progressionA separate custom map named Custom_IridiumQuarry with its own ore, meteor and monster rules

If you are looking for the dangerous endgame area, use the SVE Iridium Quarry guide. Completing the Crafts Room bridge does not unlock that custom location.

How to unlock the regular Quarry

  • Community Center: complete the Crafts Room bundles. The game checks the ccCraftsRoom completion mail and applies SVE’s Mountain-BridgeFixed asset.
  • Joja route: purchase the Bridge repair on the Community Development Form for 25,000g.

After the bridge is repaired, cross to the far-eastern Quarry section. The SVE Mountain replacement preserves the quarry rectangle used by local game logic: tiles x 106–127, y 13–34.

The regular Quarry is still on the eastern side of the Mountain location.

Minecart access

Repair the minecart system through the Boiler Room bundles or the 15,000g Joja project. The Mountain’s minecart action still opens the destination named Quarry, so it remains the fastest repeat-visit route in SVE.

Exact daily spawn attempts

The Quarry does not refill a fixed percentage of everything you break. Once per day, the local game makes this many placement attempts:

YearAttempts per day
17
29
311
413
515
6+16

The formula is min(16, 5 + year × 2). When a new Mountain location is first constructed, the game also calls the same quarry routine ten times to seed its initial contents; the table above describes each later daily update. Each attempt selects one random tile inside the 22×22 quarry rectangle. If that tile is occupied or not eligible, the attempt produces nothing, so clearing rocks, nodes and trees increases usable space but never guarantees a particular replacement count.

What can spawn

The daily routine can create young trees, ordinary stones, coal nodes, gem nodes, Artifact Spots or Seed Spots, and rare special nodes such as Mystic Stones. This is why an open Quarry is useful over time, but it is not a dependable substitute for targeted mine floors.

Mystic Stones can drop a Prismatic Shard; the familiar 25% shard roll applies when a Mystic Stone is broken. Treat that as a bonus rather than a daily expectation because the Mystic Stone itself is rare.

Mystic Stone in the Quarry
Mystic Stones are valuable but uncommon Quarry spawns.

Best clearing strategy

  1. Clear enough space that random placement attempts have open diggable tiles.
  2. Return by minecart whenever the visible node count makes the trip worthwhile; there is no special 1–3-day timer.
  3. Use bombs for dense stone clusters, but collect forage and Artifact Spots first.
  4. Leave permanent decorations and machines outside the quarry spawn rectangle if you want maximum refill space.

The Quarry Mine and Golden Scythe

The cave entrance in the Quarry leads to the single-floor Quarry Mine with slimes and Haunted Skulls. Reach the Grim Reaper statue at the end to collect the Golden Scythe.

  • Its swing covers a larger area than the starter Scythe.
  • It has a 75% chance to turn cut grass into hay, compared with 50% for the normal Scythe.
  • It deals 13 damage instead of the normal Scythe’s 1–3.
