The Ultimate Guide to Completing the Stardew Valley Fishing Bundle

The Community Center Fishing Bundle was the hardest for me to complete during my first playthrough. For me, it was like I was at the game’s mercy when it came to fishing, and all odds were against me. Also, I didn’t know that certain types of fish had specific requirements to appear, and overall the process of gathering fish was lengthy and painful. That changed when I spent some time learning all about them, and today I’ll pass my fishing knowledge to you through this ultimate guide, after which you’ll complete the Fishing Bundle easily.

The Fish Tank and Its Bundles

After you complete one bundle in the Community Center, you will be able to donate fish to the Fish Tank or also known as the Fishing Bundle. There are six bundles inside of it, and I’ll go through each one.

Preparations

If you have unlocked fishing baits and tackles, prepare them because some types of fish are really hard to catch. Also, don’t forget to stack up on food that increases energy and fishing.

The River Fish Bundle

Apart from being present in the river, this group of fish can also be discovered in the Riverland, the Forest, and the Hill-Top Farm. Nevertheless, it is recommended to fish in the river as the likelihood of acquiring the uncommon ones is higher.

Here is the table regarding fish needed for the River Fish Bundle.

Fish Season Time Weather
Sunfish Spring and Summer 6 AM – 7 PM Sunny
Catfish Spring and Fall (can be found in summer during rain in Secret Woods and during Winter in Witch’s Swamp if rain totem is used) 6 AM – 12 PM Raining
Shad Spring, Summer, and Fall 9 AM – 2 AM Raining
Tiger Trout Fall and Winter 6 AM – 7 PM Any

Biggest Problems the You Can Encounter While Working on Fishing Bundle

There are a lot of things that can make completing the Fishing Bundle a really painful process. However, they vary from player to player, but I’ll list those that objectively make things harder for everyone.

Furthermore, I’ll put the whole fishing mechanic away because it is hard, but you will master it after a certain amount of time spent with a fishing rod by the water.

The first problem is the seasons in which fish appear, or better to say a gap between them. Consider Tuna, for instance; it can be caught in both Summer and Winter. However, if the player fails to catch it during Summer, various factors (such as overlooking the fish, struggling to catch it, or simply its unavailability) may prevent them from completing the bundle until Winter arrives, at which point the fish becomes inaccessible.

The same goes for weather and if the player doesn’t want to be at the game’s mercy, the Rain Totem is a must.

Lack of the in-game information about the fish is also a big problem. There are some but there isn’t enough.

Mods That Can Help You On This Journey

So, now it’s time to mention some mods that can assist you in efficiently and effortlessly accomplishing the Fish Bundle.

As there are many things to do in the game, To-Dew mod by Jamie Taylor helps with setting up priorities in the game, as it can always happen that the player can forget to do something important. It happens to everyone who plays the game, and it will happen to new players as well. This mod allows you to create a list of things and remember everything that you need to do.

Another mod is Lookup Anything by Pathoschild, and with it, you can easily see which fish is needed for the fish bundle. You only need to place a cursor over it and simply press F1 to see if it’s needed for the fish bundle.

There is nothing for me left to say besides Good Luck with Fishing!
