Fast Answer

Route 34 is the best Ditto location

Walk south from Goldenrod City onto Route 34 and hunt in the grass near the Day Care. Ditto appears at level 10 in all three time periods. Route 35 north of Goldenrod also works, but Route 34 keeps you next to the breeding loop most players want.

FAQ

Ditto location questions

Is Route 34 or Route 35 better?

Route 34 is better for most players because it is beside the Day Care and has about 5% total Ditto slots in the normal Crystal grass table. Route 35 is fine when you are already north of Goldenrod.

Does time of day matter?

No for the basic location answer. Ditto appears in morning, day, and night slots on both Route 34 and Route 35.

Why does Ditto feel so rare?

It sits in low-probability grass slots. Stay on one route, keep Repel off, and expect short dry streaks even when you are in the right place.

Can Ditto breed with every Pokemon?

No. Ditto is extremely flexible, but not every Pokemon can breed. Check baby, legendary, and special no-egg cases before planning a long hatch session.
