A Time Attack record only counts if Wario finishes the stage while carrying the Gray, Red, Green, and Blue keys together. The game keeps one MM:SS best time for each level.

HOW TO UNLOCK TIME ATTACK
Perfect completion comes after the main clear
Time Attack is not available mid-campaign. Finish the story first, then clean up every treasure and return to the overworld for the Perfect screen.
Main story clear
Collect all five Music Boxes and defeat the Hidden Figure (Rudy). That sets the game-cleared mode and plays the epilogue flow.
All 100 treasures
Open every Gray, Red, Green, and Blue Chest across the 25 levels. Musical Coins do not fill this treasure flag set.
Perfect screen
Return to the overworld after the clear with every treasure flagged. Perfect completion enables Time Attack mode.
HOW RECORDS COUNT
Four keys at the goal, one MM:SS slot per level
Each of the 25 levels keeps a single best time. That record updates when you clear the stage while holding every key color.
Collect every key
You need the same-color key set used for treasure chests—Gray, Red, Green, and Blue—inside the level you are racing.
Keep them to the exit
Dropping a key before the goal voids the record for that attempt. Plan a route that gathers all four, then heads out without detours that force a drop.
Beat your best
The game compares your new MM:SS clear with that level’s stored best and keeps the faster result.
BEGINNER TIME ATTACK TIPS
Start with early North stages, then expand
Once Time Attack is open, practice short early levels before grinding late East stages. Permanent abilities stay unlocked, so late-game movement options remain available for every rerun.
Warm up on N1–N3
Out of the Woods, The Peaceful Village, and The Vast Plain teach the four-key loop with simpler layouts.
Use map variants
Treasure-driven layout changes still apply. Pick the variant that opens the cleanest key path for your ability set.

How do I unlock Time Attack in Wario Land 3?
Recover all five Music Boxes, defeat the Hidden Figure, then collect all 100 treasures and return to the overworld. The Perfect screen appears and Time Attack becomes available.
What is required for a Time Attack record?
Finish the level while holding the Gray, Red, Green, and Blue keys. A valid attempt stores an MM:SS best time for that stage.
Do Musical Coins / music coins unlock Time Attack?
No. Perfect completion checks treasure flags only. Musical Coins are a separate collectible track (eight per level) and are not required for Perfect or Time Attack unlock.
