WARIO LAND 3 GUIDE

Tower of Revival Walkthrough and Checklist

Tower of Revival Walkthrough and Checklist

Tower of Revival (S3) is the South ability hub in Wario Land 3. Use the finder below for every Gray, Red, Green, and Blue chest and all eight Musical Coins—with exact room-map links for Day/Night and each map variant. First priority is the Gray Chest Swimming Flippers so you can swim and dive everywhere after you leave the tower.

Swimming Flippers

FIRST CLEAR PRIORITY

Open the Gray Chest for Swimming Flippers, then unlock powered dash with Garlic

Carry the Gray Key to the Gray Chest and take Swimming Flippers for permanent swim and dive. On the same visit path, prioritize the Red Chest Garlic for the powered dash attack and the Tidal Coast → Sea Turtle Rocks overworld route. Come back later for Treasure Map, Sky Key, and Musical Coins as glass-eye and golden-eye variants open deeper floors.

Tower of Revival treasures by chest color

Each chest needs its matching key color in the same level. Colors are not unlocked globally—if you drop a key, go back and pick it up again. Room numbers below match the default Day layout; open the map link for live markers on your current Day/Night and variant.

PERMANENT ABILITIES · S3

How to swim and how to get powered dash

Two of the nine permanent powers live in this tower. Ability treasures permanently change Wario outside the level—you do not need to hold a form for them.

Swimming Flippers

Swimming Flippers · Swim & Dive

Gray Chest reward. Lets Wario swim on the surface, dive below, and use underwater passages. Without Flippers, deep water is a soft wall for many chest and coin routes.

Also rewrites The Big Bridge to Variant 2 and The Pool of Rain to Variant 3 so later revisits open new rooms.

Garlic

Garlic · Powered Dash Attack

Red Chest reward. Strengthens Wario’s dash so tougher side blocks break and longer slides clear hazard lines. This is the powered dash upgrade—not Ground Pound (Lead Overalls in W2)—and it is a high priority right after Swimming Flippers.

On the overworld, Garlic clears the northern path from The Tidal Coast to Sea Turtle Rocks. It also unlocks Bank of the Wild River V2 and The Colossal Hole V2.

SOUTH TOWER ROUTE

How Tower of Revival opens and where it leads

1

Raise the tower

Collect Red Skull Ring (N3 Green Chest) and Blue Skull Ring (W3 Red Chest). The pair raises Tower of Revival beyond The Big Bridge.

2

Flippers + Garlic

Take Swimming Flippers and Garlic as soon as S3 is open. Swim and powered dash unlock huge chunks of the remaining map.

3

East & sky exits

Treasure Map opens East Crater from Castle of Illusions. Sky Key opens Above the Clouds from this tower. Ornamental Fan later links the tower toward The Stagnant Swamp.

No boss here: Tower of Revival has no dedicated boss arena. Ability and route treasures are the whole clear goal—use the boss guide only for other levels.

MAP VARIANTS · DAY & NIGHT

When Tower of Revival layout changes

S3 has four progression variants on both Day and Night. Variant 1 is available once the Skull Rings raise the tower. Later variants open after you collect specific treasures elsewhere:

Variant Requirements Notes Map
V1 None (tower raised via Skull Rings) Default first visit. Grab Swimming Flippers and start Garlic / Treasure Map routes. Open Day map
V2 Right Glass Eye + Left Glass Eye Glass-eye pair layout. Strong reference state for the Red Chest / Garlic map index. Open Day map
V3 Statue (N4 Green Chest) Statue-linked mid revisit for deeper tower rooms. Open Day map
V4 Golden Left Eye + Golden Right Eye Late golden-eye layout. Strong reference state for the Blue Chest / Sky Key map index. Open Day map

FAQ

Tower of Revival FAQ

How do you unlock Tower of Revival in Wario Land 3?

Collect both Skull Rings: Red Skull Ring from N3 The Vast Plain (Green Chest) and Blue Skull Ring from W3 The Pool of Rain (Red Chest). Together they raise the Tower of Revival beyond The Big Bridge on the South map.

How do I swim / dive in Wario Land 3?

Open the Gray Chest in Tower of Revival for Swimming Flippers. That permanent power lets Wario swim on the surface, dive underwater, and reach many chest and Musical Coin routes that are otherwise blocked.

How do I open the Gray / Grey Chest in Tower of Revival?

Find the Gray Key in rooms 7 or 23 (depending on map state), carry it to the Gray Chest in room 0, 15, or 29, and open it for Swimming Flippers.

What does Garlic do?

Garlic unlocks the powered dash attack, opens the overworld path from The Tidal Coast to Sea Turtle Rocks, and unlocks layout Variant 2 in Bank of the Wild River and The Colossal Hole. It is the Red Chest treasure of Tower of Revival.

What does the Treasure Map open?

The Green Chest holds the Treasure Map. Collecting it opens E6 The East Crater from Castle of Illusions on the overworld.

What does the Sky Key open?

The Blue Chest holds the Sky Key. It opens S6 Above the Clouds from Tower of Revival and enables the Above the Clouds Variant 2 layout for later revisits.

How many Musical Coins are in Tower of Revival?

Eight—the same as every other level. Use the coin table above or the full Musical Coins Finder if you are missing one for 100% side goals.

Is there a boss in Tower of Revival?

No. S3 is an ability and route tower with four chests and eight Musical Coins. Use the bosses guide for arenas in other levels.
