Emulator codes
Pokemon Yellow cheats and GameShark codes
Classic English GBC Yellow GameShark lines for emulators: Master Balls, Rare Candy, money, walk through walls, wild modifiers, and builders for any species or shop item. Prefer map tools and glitch guides when you can—codes can softlock saves.
Before you enable anything
Backup, English ROM, emulator only
These are community-published GameShark codes for English Pokémon Yellow on emulators (desktop cores, My Old Boy-style Android apps, etc.). They are not for 3DS Virtual Console menus, and they are not a substitute for learning routes. Export a save before testing. Turn codes off after use. Walk-through-walls and badge codes are the usual softlock sources.

Builders
Wild species code builder
Species values use Yellow’s internal index (not always the National Dex number). Mew is $15, so the famous line is 0115D7CF.
Why there is no generic mart builder
Published 7BCF/7CCF templates are not interchangeable emulator preferences: they target different memory addresses and can write the wrong byte on an unmatched ROM or build. This page therefore keeps only reviewed fixed codes and does not generate a universal shop-item line.
Setup
How to enter codes on an emulator
1. Confirm the game
Use an English Pokémon Yellow dump that matches common GBC GameShark lists. Red/Blue codes often fail or corrupt Yellow.
2. Add GameShark / cheat lines
In My Old Boy, mGBA, BGB, or similar: open Cheats → add GameShark → paste each 8-character line on its own row → enable.
3. Trigger the effect
Mart codes need a shop refresh. Wild modifiers need a new encounter. Bag item codes need you to open the Item pocket. Then disable the cheat.
Virtual Console and official re-releases generally have no GameShark entry UI. Hardware GameShark devices used the same code format on original carts.
Play without codes
Site tools that replace common cheats
Want Mew without GameShark?
Use the Trainer-Fly Mew glitch—Yellow even has an early Viridian Forest route.
Want items and TMs honestly?
Browse every TM/HM pin and bag item source instead of mart modifiers.
Want legendaries without wild mods?
Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo have fixed map encounters.
Curious about MissingNo.?
The classic coast method is patched in Yellow—read the FAQ before watching Red/Blue videos.
FAQ
Cheat questions
Do these codes work on every emulator?
Most English Yellow GameShark lists work on common GB/GBC cores when the code type is set to GameShark. If a line does nothing, confirm the game version, disable other cheats, and hard-reset after enabling.
Why is my Rare Candy code empty?
Use both published lines, open the Item pocket (not Key Items), and make sure you are not overwriting the pocket with another item code at the same time.
Is walk through walls safe?
No. It is the fastest way to fall out of bounds or freeze on warps. Keep a backup and turn it off after shortcuts.
Can I use codes on 3DS Virtual Console?
Not through the official VC interface. These codes target GameShark/emulator cheat engines.
Are glitches the same as cheats?
No. Glitches (Mew, historical MissingNo. on Red/Blue) use normal game inputs. GameShark codes rewrite memory from outside the game.
