Pokémon Gold and Silver place 30 fruit trees across Johto and Kanto. Each tree drops one berry or Apricorn per real-time day, then stays empty until the RTC rolls the daily fruit-tree flags. Every fruit tree yields one item when you interact with it. The game marks that tree as harvested and, on the first tree interaction of a new day, clears all fruit-tree flags so every tree can fruit again. Gold and Silver share the same 30-tree table—there are no version exclusives. Apricorn trees feed Kurt’s special balls; healing berries go in the bag or hold slot.

These are the original GBC berry names and effects—not the later Oran / Chesto / Lum set from Gen 3+. Use from the bag on a party mon, or hold for in-battle triggers. Gold Berry and Miracleberry exist as items but are not on fruit trees (Mystery Gift / special rewards).

Route 37 (Red / Blu / Blk), Azalea (Wht), Route 42 (Pnk / Grn / Ylw). Take them to Kurt after Slowpoke Well for Level, Lure, Moon, Friend, Fast, Heavy, and Love Balls. Full converter and Gen 2 ball bugs live on the Apricorns & Kurt tool.

How fruit trees regrow
Daily flag cycle
- All 30 trees share one daily harvest system.
- Picking a tree empties it; the next interaction says “nothing here.”
- When a new RTC day starts, the first time you check any fruit tree the game refreshes every tree so they can fruit again.
- Same daily system as haircuts, bargain shop stock, and contest entry—see the days of the week calendar.
Clock notes (original G/S)
- You set the RTC once early with Mom / Elm. There is no free mid-game clock menu.
- Emulators need RTC support or the day never advances.
- Changing your device clock can advance or rewind daily flags—plan harvests carefully if you edit time.
- Gold and Silver share the table; Crystal uses the same fruit-tree idea with its own story schedule.
Pack-full tip
If your Bag is full, the tree still talks but does not consume the harvest—free a slot and try again. The tree only empties after a successful giveitem.

Early Johto loop
Route 29 Berry → Route 30 Berry + Psncureberry (+ Berry House gift) → Route 31 Bitter → Violet Przcure → Route 33 Psncure → Route 46 Berry + Przcure. Unlocks almost every status cure before Whitney.
Central Johto + Apricorns
Route 35 Mysteryberry → Route 36 Ice Berry (Sudowoodo path) → Route 37 three Apricorns → Route 38 Berry → Route 39 Mint → Route 42 three Apricorns → Route 43 Bitter → Route 44 Burnt → Route 45 Mysteryberry.
Kanto post-game loop
After the S.S. Aqua: Route 1 Bitter → Route 2 Psncure → Pewter Ice + Mint → Route 8 Przcure → Route 11 Berry → Fuchsia Burnt → Route 26 Ice on the Victory Road approach.

FAQ
Berry tree questions
How do fruit trees regrow in Gold / Silver?
After you pick a tree it stays empty until the next calendar day on the RTC. The first fruit-tree interaction of that new day resets every tree flag.
Do Gold and Silver have different trees?
No. Both versions use the same 30 tree locations and items. Version exclusives are Pokémon and story legendaries, not fruit trees.
Where is Mysteryberry?
Route 35 (south of National Park) and Route 45 (Blackthorn side). Held Mysteryberry restores PP when a move hits 0 PP.
Are Apricorns the same as berries?
They share the daily fruit-tree system, but Apricorns only craft Kurt balls—they have no battle held effect. Use the Kurt tool for ball math.
Can I get Gold Berry from a tree?
No. Gold Berry is not in the fruit-tree list. It appears from special gifts, trades, and Mystery Gift pools—check the Gold Berry item page.
Is this the same as HeartGold / SoulSilver berries?
No. HGSS uses the later berry system and different field layouts. This page is for original Game Boy Color Gold & Silver only.
