FAQ

Location questions

Why does a Pokemon show “Evolution only”?

It has no wild or gift source of its own on this cart. Obtain the earlier stage (or a gift/trade mon), then level or stone evolve. Cards list the parent species when known.

What does slot rate mean?

It is the share of that location’s encounter table held by the species (percent of slots). Higher is more common in that grass/surf/rod table. It is not a guaranteed steps-to-encounter timer.

Is MissingNo. or Mew on this list?

Mew is marked event/glitch—see the Mew glitch guide. MissingNo. is patched differently in Yellow; use the MissingNo. page, not wild tables.

Do I need Red or Blue locations?

No for most of Yellow. Use Yellow tables first. For trade-only lines, trade from another version or emulator link rather than hunting empty grass.
