The Stagnant Swamp (E1) is the East-map hub in Wario Land 3. It holds the Red Music Box, the Flute layout key, the Green Flower volcano piece, and the Eye of the Storm. Use the finder for every Gray, Red, Green, and Blue chest plus all eight Musical Coins—with exact room-map links for Day/Night and each map variant.
EAST HUB PRIORITY
Open E1 with the Ornamental Fan, then secure the Red Music Box
The Ornamental Fan (W3 Pool of Rain, Green Chest) clears the eastern mist from the Tower of Revival and opens E1 The Stagnant Swamp. Inside, prioritize the Green Chest Red Music Box to open Beneath the Waves from The Pool of Rain. Grab the Flute and Green Flower on the same loop when the layout allows; leave Eye of the Storm for a revisit if the Blue route is still locked.

EAST MAP HUB
How The Stagnant Swamp connects the East
Swamp hub, not a boss stage
E1 has no main boss arena. Muddee and other swamp enemies fill the rooms while the overworld uses this level as a junction for East progress.
Into E1: Ornamental Fan links Tower of Revival → The Stagnant Swamp.
Out of E1: Blue Book + Magic Wand freeze a path to The Frigid Sea. Lantern + Magical Flame later reveal Castle of Illusions beyond the swamp. Red Music Box opens Beneath the Waves from The Pool of Rain.

FAQ
The Stagnant Swamp FAQ
How do I open The Stagnant Swamp?
Collect the Ornamental Fan from W3 The Pool of Rain (Green Chest). The overworld mist clears and Tower of Revival connects to E1 The Stagnant Swamp.
Where is the Red Music Box?
Green Chest in The Stagnant Swamp. Carry the Green Key from room 24 to the Green Chest in room 23. Use Variant 2 after Foot of Stone when that layout is available.
What does the Flute unlock?
Layout variants: The Peaceful Village V2 and V3, The Grasslands V3, and The Volcano’s Base V3. It is a multi-level revisit key rather than a brand-new overworld road.
What does the Green Flower do?
It is the third volcano piece with Blue Tusk and Red Tusk. Completing the set triggers The West Crater and the path from The Frigid Sea toward The Colossal Hole.
How many Musical Coins are in The Stagnant Swamp?
Eight—the same as every other level. Use the coin table above or the full Musical Coins Finder if you are missing one.
Is there a boss in The Stagnant Swamp?
No main boss arena is placed in E1. The level is an East hub with treasure and coin routes; boss fights live in other stages.
Why won’t day and night switch on the East map?
The East overworld keeps the clock locked until both Sun Medallion halves are collected: top half in N6 Sea Turtle Rocks (Green Chest), bottom half in W1 Desert Ruins (Blue Chest).
