Where to find Eevee in Pokemon Gold & Silver
Eevee is not wild. Meet Bill in the Ecruteak Pokémon Center, then claim the free Level 20 gift at Bill’s family house in Goldenrod. Need more? Redeem 6666 coins in the Celadon Prize Room (Lv.15) or breed on Route 34 with Ditto.

Trigger Bill’s Time Capsule scene in Ecruteak, leave a free party slot, then talk to Bill in Goldenrod for the Lv.20 gift. The Celadon prize (Lv.15, 6666 coins) and Route 34 breeding cover second and later Eevee—there is no grass spawn in Johto or Kanto.
When you can claim it
- After you can reach Ecruteak City (post-Sudowoodo / Route 36 path).
- Bill’s house is open early in Goldenrod, but he is only home after the Ecruteak scene.
- Celadon prize needs the S.S. Aqua / Kanto post-Elite Four route.

How to get Bill’s free Eevee
1. Reach Ecruteak
- Clear Goldenrod story beats that open Route 36 (Whitney + SquirtBottle / Sudowoodo).
- Cross Route 36–37 into Ecruteak City.
- Enter the Pokémon Center to trigger Bill’s scripted Time Capsule intro.
2. Bill leaves for home
- After the scene, Bill is no longer blocking the Ecruteak Center.
- His object flag is cleared so he can appear in Goldenrod.
- Fly or walk back to Goldenrod City.
3. Claim the gift
- Enter Bill’s Family’s House on the south side of Goldenrod (city exit pin near the bottom of the map).
- Talk to Bill at tile (2, 3) with five or fewer Pokémon in the party.
- Accept the gift: Eevee Lv.20, one-time per save file.
Ecruteak Pokémon Center
Bill’s Time Capsule scene runs the first time you enter this Center after the city is reachable.
Goldenrod City
Bill’s house entrance is on the south side of town. Look for the house warp south of the main commercial strip.
Bill’s Family’s House
Bill stands at (2, 3). Party full? Deposit one mon first. Sister can register Bill’s phone number after he is home.

Prize desk facts
- Location: Celadon Game Corner Prize Room (Kanto).
- Cost: 6666 coins.
- Level: 15 (cheaper level than Bill’s gift).
- Also on the mon menu: Mr. Mime 3333 · Porygon 9999.
How to fund it
- Play slots / card flip in Celadon Game Corner until you bank 6666 coins.
- Keep a free party slot—the prize script fails the same way Bill does if the party is full.
- Use this when you already spent Bill’s gift on Espeon/Umbreon and still want a stone form.

Breed more Eevee on Route 34
Best pair: Eevee + Ditto
- Leave Bill’s (or prize) Eevee with a Ditto at the Route 34 Day Care.
- Ditto makes the Egg species always Eevee—gender of the Eevee does not matter.
- Without Ditto, the mother must be Eevee (female) and the father any compatible male.
Where to catch Ditto
- Route 34 grass — Ditto occupies repeated rare slots totaling about 5% of grass encounters; with the route’s encounter check, the site map correctly shows up to 0.5% per step check.
- Route 35 grass — same rare slot pattern; Yanma swarm days still keep Ditto in the table.
- Both routes sit next to Goldenrod / the Day Care, so you can farm and breed in one loop.
Route 34 Day Care
South of Goldenrod. Deposit the pair, walk until the Day Care Man holds an Egg, then hatch while walking.

Use a Water Stone. Great bulky Surf partner if you skip friendship.
Jolteon
Use a Thunderstone. Fast special attacker with minimal setup.

Troubleshooting
Common blockers
Bill only says hello, no gift
You already received Eevee on this save. Switch to Celadon coins or Route 34 breeding.
House is empty
Finish the Ecruteak Center scene. Mom’s dialogue about Ecruteak is the hint that the flag is still pending.
Party full message
Bill will not hand over Eevee if you already carry six Pokémon. Deposit one at any PC, then talk to him again.
Wanted Espeon but got stone form
Never use Fire / Water / Thunderstone if you want friendship forms. Use the friendship checker first.
