Fast answer

30 owned → aide → beep → A button

Register 30 different owned Pokémon, talk to the aide upstairs on the Route 11 gate, equip the Itemfinder from Key Items, and scan maps. A beep means a remaining hide is nearby; walk tiles and press A even when nothing is visible.

How to get the Itemfinder

Oak’s aideRoute 11 Gate 2F

Species requirement

The aide checks your owned Pokédex count (not just seen). Gifts, trades, and evolutions all count once owned.

Fast 30Early game

Easy owned fillers

  • Route grass lines (Pidgey, Rattata, Nidoran, etc.).
  • Starter gifts: Charmander / Bulbasaur / Squirtle path.
  • Fishing Magikarp once you have a rod.
  • In-game trades and Game Corner prizes also count.
How to useKey Items

Beep, then tile hunt

Open Key Items → Itemfinder. The game gives one fixed yes/no signal when any eligible hidden item is in range; it does not encode distance or signal strength. Use the map pin, then press A on the exact tile.

Without itStill possible

Guide-driven pickups

You can collect every hide without the Itemfinder if you know the tile. This checklist + map pins is enough for a full sweep on a second pass.

Hunting tips

Make the Itemfinder efficient

Scan after major story beats

Hideouts, mansions, and Victory Road add clusters. Re-check maps when a new dungeon opens instead of backtracking constantly.

Use the map layer

This site’s interactive map marks hidden pickups. Combine beeps in-game with pins here when you are stuck on a tile.

Moon Stones & candies

Hidden Moon Stones feed evolution routes; Rare Candies skip grinds for legendaries and late gyms. Cross-check the dedicated Moon Stone guide.

One-time flags

Collected hides stay collected even if you deposit the Itemfinder. Save before mass sweeps if you are shiny hunting or glitching nearby.
