Fast answer

Scope → climb → Marowak → Fuji → Flute

Finish Rocket Hideout for the Silph Scope, climb Pokémon Tower in Lavender, defeat the 2F Rival, calm the 6F Marowak ghost, beat Jessie & James on 7F, free Mr. Fuji, then collect the Poké Flute at his house.

Hard gate

No Scope, no ghost fights

If you only see “a ghost” and cannot battle, you are missing the Silph Scope. Return to the Game Corner Rocket Hideout, clear the spinner floors, take the Lift Key, and defeat Giovanni for the Scope before re-entering the Tower.

Step 1

Gen 1 Ghost quirks

Ghost is immune to both Normal and Fighting attacks in Gen I. Pack Psychic, Ground, Electric, or other non-Normal/non-Fighting damage for Gastly and Haunter.

Cubone hunting

Cubone appears on 5F–7F—good time to start the Ground line while you climb for Fuji.

Flute → Snorlax

The Flute is the only way to wake both Snorlax. Catch or KO them with Ultra Balls—see the dedicated Snorlax tool.

Reuse the 5F purified zone

The purified tile on 5F fully heals the party and can be reused. It is the best checkpoint before Marowak and Jessie & James; Lavender’s Pokémon Center remains available outside.

Story fights

Rival, Marowak, Jessie & James

Trainer / event Floor Max Lv Team / note Reward Link

Rival paths still track early Eevee outcomes. Jessie & James use Meowth, Arbok, and Weezing on 7F. Marowak is a static ghost event, not a wild table row.

Tips

Clear faster

Hideout first

Do not climb the Tower expecting to battle ghosts before the Scope. Rocket Hideout is the prereq, not Silph Co. headquarters.

Awakening stock

Gastly lines sleep and confuse. Grab the 4F Awakening and bring extras from marts.

Same-session Flute

After Fuji, walk straight to his house for the Flute, then clear a Snorlax the same session if your team is healthy.

Rock Tunnel approach

Flash helps Rock Tunnel on the way to Lavender, but is optional—see the Rock Tunnel guide.
