Fast answer
Key → pad → Rival → Lapras → Giovanni → Ball

Interactive tool
Card Key fast-route tracker
Mark each stage done. Map pins match the Yellow Silph layout.
Card Key first
Without the 5F key, shutters stay closed and the 3F shortcut pad is blocked. Grab it before exploring for loot.
9F free heal
A bed/nurse on 9F restores the party. Useful before Rival retries or Giovanni if you are low on items.
TM26 detour
Earthquake on 10F is optional but excellent for late-game Ground STAB. Loot before or after the Master Ball—Card Key opens the way.
Save Master Ball
Only one guaranteed Master Ball. Most players hold it for Cerulean Cave Mewtwo (Lv.70, CR 3).
Rewards
Lapras & Master Ball
Lapras · 7F employee
Received after the 7F Rival during the takeover. Huge HP (base 130), learns Ice Beam later, and is one of the best in-game Surf carriers. Leave a party slot open.
- BST 450 · Special 95
- Map: Silph Co. 7F
- Not missable if you talk to the employee before leaving the story room
Master Ball
Guaranteed catch on any wild Pokémon. Awarded only after Giovanni is defeated on 11F. Do not waste it on ordinary wilds if you plan to catch Mewtwo.
- One per normal playthrough
- Also useful for birds if Mewtwo is already secured via Ultra Balls

Tips
Clear faster
Psychic for Rockets
Many grunts spam Poison and Normal. Kadabra/Alakazam and strong special attackers clear hallways quickly.
Water for Giovanni
Nido lines and Rhyhorn hate Surf/Hydro Pump. Lapras can contribute immediately after you receive it.
After liberation
Rocket grunts leave Saffron streets. Fighting Dojo and Sabrina’s Gym become cleaner mid-game objectives.
Scope already done?
You needed Silph Scope from Rocket Hideout for Tower ghosts earlier. Silph Co. is the later corporate siege—different building, same organization.
